Democrats = Defeat

Over the course of the past week we have heard assorted prominent Democrats such as Reid, Pelosi and Murtha speak eloquently about the defeat of the United States in Iraq. One has to wonder if they believe we can’t win or if they are orchestrating their own self fulfilling prophesy; to make Iraq the new Vietnam. I believe that they will do everything possible to make certain our military can’t win in Iraq, regardless of the collateral damage this would cause.

The Democrats, while fond of comparing Iraq to Vietnam, seem to have forgotten one of the deadliest lessons learned from that conflict. When they cut off funding to the military when it is engaged in a battle for freedom half way across the world, the military is certain to lose. The result of Democrat intervention in funding the Vietnam War was millions dead in the power vacuum that resulted from our premature exit. Cambodia and Vietnam paid a tremendous price in blood when the United States was forced to leave due to congressional action to cut funding for our troops.

Will the Democrats repeat their missteps of the early 1970s? It would appear that they are determined to tied the President’s hands and bring the Iraq war to a hasty conclusion. Do they not understand that while they debate their strategy in on stopping the war they are giving the terrorist forces in Iraq incentive to hang on? What is their motivation to surrender if they believe the Democrats will force the world’s strongest military to cut and run?

By publicly chopping at the President’s ability to prosecute this war they are feeding the enemy with the motivation they need to recruit more terrorists and fight like never before wit ha renewed enthusiasm driven by the knowledge that the United States does not have the will to win! For years the Democrats complained that the Bush Administration did not have enough “boots on the ground” to fight this war properly. Now the President is sending more troops and taking a more aggressive approach and they are still against it. Let me get this right, what ever Bush does is wrong in their eyes; that is what I thought. Along these lines they have come out Sunday and stated their latest attempt to hamstring the President and our military:

Senate Democrats said Sunday they might try to restrict President Bush's ability to wage war in Iraq by approving a more limited version of the 2002 measure that authorized the use of force against Saddam Hussein. Story

Are we fighting terrorists or are we fighting the Democrats? Sometimes I think the civil war is taking place in Washington DC and it is a battle that threatens the stability of the free world. We re not the United States right now, we are more divided than at any time since the Civil War in the 1800s. How can we hope to fight terrorism and win when we have to fight the party of Defeat at every turn? In short, Democrats = Defeat.

State of the GOP

The actions of several House Republicans supporting this ridiculous non-binding resolution against the President's Iraq policy is yet another indicator that the GOP has no influence on its members.  The GOP has become a fractionalized joke of itself with more politicians moving to the left than ever before.  I have purposely withheld my contributions for this year as I no longer see the GOP as the conservative party or the one that is committed to fighting terrorism.

The increased pandering to the left has alienated large numbers of your conservative base and the lack of commitment to securing our southern border in the hopes of attracting Hispanic voters threatens to cost you more of your base.  I ask if anyone is actually calculating how many votes the GOP lost in the mid-term election and extrapolating that figure out to the 2008 election?  Will the GOP recruit enough minority voters to recoup the loss of their conservative base?  This nation is crying out for conservative leadership and the GOP is failing at every turn.

Post Election Exhaustion

A mere three months removed from the mudslinging mid-term election and we are knee deep in presidential wannabes. I shudder to think about the next couple of years as we endure a campaign season that will last the entire final two years of a sitting president’s term. I suppose I should be pleased as this will divert Democrat attention from bashing Bush to tearing each other limb from limb. I have to wonder, however, are the American people really willing to follow the campaigns for what will seem like an eternity, or are these presidential hopefuls spinning their wheels until we are within a month of the Iowa caucuses?

What is most interesting is that Nancy Pelosi has barely moved into her office and her gavel isn’t even warm; yet she has already become an afterthought as the great Democrat take over of congress takes a back seat to the 2008 presidential run. I would imagine that she thought her time in the spotlight would have lasted a little longer. Obama, Clinton, Richardson and others have stolen her thunder and knocked her self proclaimed ascent to power off the front page. How can democrats bask in the glory of their victory when their party has already dismissed it as members of the very congressional majority, they just won, launch their personal campaigns for the Oval Office. Will they wield this newly won power or will they be concerned over how each and every decision impacts their individual aspirations.

I consider myself a political junkie; I read countless books on politics, read political blogs, and even express my opinions on my own site. Despite this, I have yet to recover from the mid-term election; Pelosi doesn’t even have her jet yet, and am certainly not ready to analyze 2008 presidential candidates. I greet the collective declarations of candidacy by members of both parties with a yawn, hit the snooze button, and say call me in eight months.

Democrats Praying To Allah?

Members of the Democratic National Committee prayed earlier this week at a Shiite Mosque in Dearborn, Mi; raising the question of what is the correlation between the Democratic party and the Shiites? In a world that sees the United States at war with islamo-fascist terror, we also see Iran (a known state sponsor of terror and a shiite nation) as one of the greatest threats to the free world. Why then are the Democrats meeting with Shiites in a mosque in Michigan?

With heads bowed reverently, Democrats were led in prayer yesterday by a Muslim imam who essentially asked Allah to assist in converting the party members to Islam, according to a scholar and author.

Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch and author of "The Truth about Muhammad," took note of the prayer given at the Democratic National Committee winter meeting by Husham Al-Husainy, imam of the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center, a shiite mosque in Dearborn, Mich. Story

Radical Muslim influence has been growing in the Dearborn area in recent years and it seems to be a powder keg waiting to have its fuse lit. The actions of the Democratic National Committee could be seen as efforts to appease Muslims in the area, but it could also be an indication of why the Democrats are so determined to get US forces out of Iraq.

It is clear to anyone paying attention that Iranian Shiites have been working to stoke anti American resistance in Iraq and open the door for a greater Persia; a shiite controlled are encompassing both Iran and Iraq. Are the Democrats unwittingly putting themselves in the position of facilitators? Or is this their latest plan to make sure Bush fails in Iraq? They have demonstrated time and again that taking the President down is paramount on their agenda and that they will go to almost any length to accomplish this goal.
