Definition of Torture

Over the course of the war against islamo-fascist terror we have heard how American forces have “tortured” poor terrorists. From Abu Ghraib to Guantanamo stories of humiliation and desecration of holy books have been equated with “torture”. This has caused such a stir that the PC police has made it a priority to make sure that captured terrorists get religiously compliant meals and living conditions.

Many of us have long suspected that the other side of this war does not have to play by the same rules. Burned and headless bodies turn up but because they were not caught in the act, torture has not been prove; yeah right. This week the Defense Department has released images from an Al Qaeda torture manual that was captured a few weeks ago during a raid on terrorist safe houses. The images are disturbing but do provide a clear depiction of the methods they are willing to and appear to have employed. To view these images go to Fox News.

These images should serve to educate the bleeding heart liberals on what our troops face if captured, but they will undoubtedly take the “we are not stooping to their level” view of torture. I am of the opinion that you reap what you sew and that if using torture gains our military information that can save even one life, then use every thing you can think of. This is a war; this is not a video game. The enemy is playing by its own rules and is willing to be as ruthless as possible in the process. The time has come for President Bush to stop trying to fight a PC war and take the gloves off.

GOP Sell Out

I never thought I would see the day that I turned my back on George Bush and the GOP, but that day has finally come. I was a tremendous advocate of President Bush and the GOP through the Global War on Terror and turn a blind eye to the run away spending by the GOP. I can no longer do this in good conscience; a man I thought would go down as one of the greatest Presidents in history has now cemented his legacy right next to that of Jimmy Carter as one of the worst Presidents in this Nation’s history.

The Immigration Bill that has been fast tracked through the Senate and led by Kennedy and McCain is a disgrace and a slap in the face of the conservative base that the Republican Party supposedly covets. I suppose they can replace the voters they lose with this insane amnesty plan with illegal immigrants that they want to welcome with open arms.

Not only are they willing to allow criminals who flagrantly break this nation’s laws and falsify their documentation to work here illegally, they will have to create another unmanageable government bureaucracy to manage the ridiculous provisions of this bill. With a government that has grown at an alarming pace under President Bush we will now develop another ineffective money pit. Who will pay for this, the tax payers!

We now hear the rhetoric that they are here doing jobs Americans won’t do. This is naïve and anyone who believes that is an idiot! The welfare roles are full of able bodied Americans who simply have no incentive to get off the couch and do those jobs. Why would they go pick lettuce when they can watch soaps and get their check? The solution to this fabricated situation where American’s won’t do certain jobs is simple; get able bodied Americans off welfare and make them earn a living.

The fact that John McCain, a presidential wannabe, has signed on to this deal with the likes of Senator Kennedy shows that he has not read his history. Senator Kennedy has been “fixing” the broken immigration time and time again dating back to 1965. He turns up every 15 years or so and seizes the opportunity to “fix” it again, garnering false praise for doing nothing more than selling this Nation down the river. The fact that McCain, who is already bearing the burden of the finance reform fiasco he co-authored with Russ Feingold, is a party to this shows his lack of judgment and should effectively end his run for the White House.

This insanity has probably cost the GOP any chance of regaining control of congress and will probably cost them the White House in 2008. The uproar from conservatives across the nation is gaining momentum and it will be heard at the polls. There is little hope of a third party emerging that will have any success; history has shown that we are a Nation that is locked into its two party system. The most likely, and most tragic, scenario is that conservatives throw up their hands in disgust and tell the GOP to go scratch. I, for one, has put away his check book and will not give another dime to the GOP until they return to their conservative roots.

Democrat Spending

There are many, and I count myself among them, who criticized the GOP for excessive spending in recent years. From what was heard on the talk shows leading up to the mid term election one would think conservative voters were set to teach the GOP a lesson. Now we have to ask at what cost was this lesson taught?

Democrats controlling Congress presented a $2.9 trillion budget blueprint Wednesday, ensuring a confrontation with President Bush over spending boosts for education and other domestic programs.

The Democratic plan promises a budget surplus in five years but would achieve it only by allowing some of Bush's tax cuts to expire. Story

It is neither a surprise that the Democrats want to spend, spend, spend nor that they will try to repeal the Bush tax cuts. The GOP is directly responsible as are the voters. The Democrats, after all are acting true to form, if the Republicans had stayed true to their conservative principles we may not be having to endure this “lesson”. Instead they felt compelled to drift to the center, alienate their base, and return power to the tax and spend party.
